Bicosome, a CataloniaBio & HealthTech member that has developed technology to take a cosmetic or pharmaceutical active ingredient through the skin barrier to optimise its effects, is moving into Massachusetts with help from the Road to Boston programme led by ACCIÓ (Government of Catalonia).

They have been operating in the United States in the cosmetics arena since 2014. However, “We wanted to go further and take our first steps into the healthcare arena, because we see a lot of potential to treat chronic skin conditions,” explains Lucyanna Barbosa, CEO of the company. “We’re working on a project in the pharmaceutical and medical device arena and that’s why we’re interested in Road to Boston,” she says in explaining why they signed up for this programme.

Road to Boston 2018 call
