Specipig opens neonatal intensive care unit

Specipig, member of CataloniaBio &HealthTech, has opened a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at its research facilities in the Barcelona area to continue responding to the global demand for preclinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) services.

The new NICU is equipped with specific equipment, such as incubators, dosing pumps, temperature and oxygen control systems. Specipig is also expertise in new-born, preterm and maternity related research preclinical studies with adapted facilities for these projects.

With a highly qualified team of over 20 professionals and a network of experts in human and veterinary medicine and surgery, since 2013, Specipig has been providing support for R&D biomedical research projects, preclinical testing and regulatory preclinical trials across numerous therapeutic areas including neonatal, cardiovascular, abdominal, respiratory, ophthalmology, dermatology, urology, neurology and dental.

“In recent years we have seen an increase in the need of preclinical CRO services among academic institutions and pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech companies that are looking for expertise in this strategic phase of medical device and drug development to achieve a successful launch to market.
