CataloniaBio & HealthTech is organising a new CEO Council session in which Antón Costas, President of the Economic and Social Council, will participate as a special guest, who will talk about the social and economic value of investing in the health sector.

The aim of this CEO Council is to present the advantages of investing in health to promote sustainable economic and social growth, and to support a health system that reflects the values and demands of society.

Antón Costas is an Industrial Engineer and Economist, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Barcelona. He has been Endesa's Customer Ombudsman (2000-2005) and President of Endesa's Advisory Council in Catalonia (2005-2012) and a director of several companies. On the institutional side, he has been President of the Cercle d'Economia and was President of the Fundació Cercle d'Economia (2018-2021) until taking on the role of President of the Social and Economic Council.

This event is organised jointly with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, through the institution's Health Committee.

What are CEO Councils?

CEO Councils are small-group talks with members of the boards of directors of start-ups and companies from CataloniaBio & HealthTech, where a prestigious expert or business or political leader is invited to share experiences and strategic perspectives for companies.

These sessions were first held in 2017, when Catalonia already had a consolidated business community and an ever-growing network of entrepreneurs in the life sciences and health.In addition to presenting topics of interest, CEO Councils also help strengthen the relationships of this invaluable group for the ecosystem.
